Position Summary:
In this position you will be responsible for the leadership of multiple engineering teams in numerous geographically separated locations across the US and abroad. You will be required to travel extensively to each site to provide leadership and mentor Engineering Managers and Engineers responsible for leading research and development for new products, product enhancements, application engineering, product engineering and manufacturing engineering. This position reports to the VP & GM of Specialty Valve.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and manage projects, making detailed plans that work towards the fulfillment of a set objective
- Examine technology, organizational resources and the demands of the market in order to plan or give procedures for projects which are practicable or possible
- Direct, evaluate, and confirm product design and changes
- Recruit, assign, direct, and evaluate employees
- Supervise the development and maintenance of staff abilities and suitability in the organization
- Set technical goals in the confines of the organization with the aid of senior management colleagues
- Consult or negotiate for resources required for a projects
- Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed in the organization
- Perform administrative functions such as evaluating and writing reports, approving expenditures concerning projects.
- Manger a group of engineering department under the Specialty Valve value stream for Mueller Water Product
- Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing ones
- Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring projects such as preparation of records of expenditures and research findings, progress reports, and staff conferences, in order to inform management of current status of each project being executed
